I chose this knife over a comparable Gerber because the look was just a hair cooler. Cool looking knife, nice heft, the little nubs on the blade for one-hand opening work smoothly.

The steel is 440A, which is low quality "baseline" knife steel. So, as expected, the blade isn't that tough and quickly lost it's edge, as well as breaking a tiny fragment off the tip of mine. But for the coarser tasks that people who would even buy this knife in the first place are likely to use it for, it is still useful (opening boxes or cleaning your fingernails :) ). Knife People (tm), would already have stepped up to a Spyderco or SOG knife in the first place.

The clip works pretty well, but has come loose a bit in the couple months I've had the knife. The blade has a tiny bit of lateral looseness when it's out that it didn't have new. I have not tried to tighten the blade/clip with a tiny allen wrench, but I think that will work.

All in all a decent,... Read more

I have been an owner of Buck knives for . . . well, a long time. Their Stockman was one of my favorites and I've also owned their classic folders. They all seemed to keep getting lost.

Now, I wanted a knife I could open single handed. I did not want to spend a huge amount of money, so I started looking at old favorites. I like the finish of Titanium and the metal is fairly corrosion resistant, so I thought I'd give this knife a try.

Initial appearance is nice. Then I tried opening it. The mechanism was rough, not at all like the Buck knives I remember. The blade is sharp, but the cantle, the V edge, does not seem to be as polished as I remember my old Stockman being. Still, overall construction is nice.

I can't say this is an exceptional value, although the knife is well priced for an average pocket knife. I've since applied several dollops of Semichrome Polish to the pivot point and spent a lot of time simply opening and closing the knife. The... Read more
